pesticidas statusas T sritis ekologija ir aplinkotyra apibrėžtis Cheminė medžiaga augalų, grūdų ir jų produktų, medienos, medvilnės, odos dirbinių kenkėjams, augalų ligų sukėlėjams, piktžolėms, gyvulių ektoparazitams naikinti arba jų vystymuisi stabdyti. Pagal poveikį organizmų grupėms pesticidai skirstomi į aficidus (naikina amarus), akaricidus (naikina erkes), algicidus (naikina dumblius), arboricidus (naikina krūmus), baktericidus (naikina bakterijas), defoliantus (šalina lapus), desikantus (džiovina augalus), fungicidus (naikina grybus), herbicidus (naikina piktžoles), insekticidus (naikina vabzdžius), limacidus (naikina šliužus), malakocidus (naikina moliuskus), nematocidus (naikina nematodus), ovicidus (naikina kenkėjų kiaušinius), rodenticidus, zoocidus (naikina graužikus) ir kt. Atskiras grupes sudaro atraktantai (privilioja vabzdžius į naikinimo vietą), baidikliai (atbaido vabzdžius, erkes), cheminiai sterilizatoriai (kenkėjai tampa nevaisingi). atitikmenys: angl. pesticide vok.
